2020.11.23 02:58 apmscabia Preciso de ajuda. Agradeço a quem ajudar. To perdida

[macOS] script for automatic tagging of Year and/or Genres from Discogs
I've received a few requests for the Applescripts I've written over the years, so I've set up a Github repository for them:
https://github.com/certuna/Applescripts-for-Music/
First script is up: automatic tagging of Year and/or Genres using the Discogs API, primarily useful for singles compilations and various loose tracks. Please read the instructions carefully, you'll need to insert your own API key/token in the script code before it works. Hope this is useful for some people out there.

Dialog box
Description:
You are a happy macOS user, and you've successfully survived the transition from iTunes to the new Music app, introduced with macOS Catalina last year. You might like the interface, the scriptabilty, or you simply need Music to sync music to your iPhone or iPad, or stream to your AppleTV. If you have a sizeable music library, you will probably recognise these scenarios:

  • You have an awesome disco compilation that was released in 2018, but contains tracks from 1975-1985. Tagging these tracks with 2018 makes little sense: your smart playlist of "70s Disco" will not pick these tracks up, and instead these tunes show up between modern songs by Jessie Ware and Dua Lipa.
  • You have ripped your cherished red and blue Beatles best-of CDs, released in 1993. To your frustration, these songs keep appearing in your "90s Rock" playlists.
  • You have a big folder of loose tracks you downloaded on Napster back in the 1990s because you loved the videos on MTV! But they have no genre or year tags. So none of these songs ever get included in your Genre or Decade playlists, and this makes you sad.
  • You have a compilation album with collected hit singles, but they're pretty diverse: Pop, Punk Rock, Hip-Hop, House, Reggaeton. But unfortunately, all songs are tagged with the same genre(s).
  • You've started using a new music player that supports multiple genres, but all your tracks are tagged with one genre.
  • You might have tried auto-tagging genres with some tagger using last.fm or MusicBrainz but you've found out that the genres in those databases are all over the place.
Clearly, for search/filtesmart playlists to work as expected, these songs need to be tagged with their original release year, and preferably, the genre of the specific song. But looking up every single song, checking its original release year and genre(s), and writing that in the tags is tedious manual work. MusicBrainz Picard is pretty awesome, but will still tag (most) compilation album tracks with the release date of the compilation album, not the years when the original singles were released. Genres also only go on the album level. This is where this script comes in: it will try to find the original single on Discogs, and tag the song with that year and its specific genre(s).

2020.10.27 21:01 NextavailableID Music, Shuffle not Shuffling very well

Hi,
I have 17,000 songs on my iphone. I typically set it to shuffle songs. For the last week or so i've seen it play a few songs randomly. But then it will repeat another version of the same song (example: Across the Universe (Beatles)... played once and then played the other 4 versions i have on the iPhone.
Anyone seen this? I am pretty sure it is an iOS 14 problem, I am up to date on the beta versions too.
Using MacBook Air with an iPhone 11XS.

cheers

Questions from the comments:

When you have no access to something from your own game on another platform such as kong *you guys could ask them for the game saves* whatever that means, but if you mean player data, im pretty sure you should have access to SAS4 player data, cause this is what i got from a kongregate employee https://prnt.sc/uvv0tf We do understand people have become frustrated by this recently and we may have phrased our answer wrong on the blog last week. We can access the data but we cannot move the data from Kongregate accounts to Ninja Kiwi accounts as we just don't have the tools for it and our team no longer works with Flash and has never done HTML5 so we aren't converting the game on the website, regardless of anything the Kongregate team may have suggested. This goes for both BMC and SAS4. :(
What's gonna happen after December 2020? Does Ninja Kiwi plan on replacing flash with HTML? Or will we only be able to play your games on browsers that haven't been updated? We won’t be updating the games to HTML5 or doing anything to make them work within existing browsers. We did put heaps of work into keeping most games available (including your game progress) on the Ninja Kiwi Archive though through Steam! You can find it here.
How many cats does Ezili have? For that matter, do any of the other heroes have their own animal companions? She has two cats and a frog. Obyn has a wolf and Gwen has a firefox!
Will there ever be a btd6 story mode We love good stories but we aren’t planning anything like that. Sometimes overly prescriptive stories can shut down the creativity, and right now we’re enjoying working with backstory snippets that both we and the community can have fun with.
Will Club challenges in Battles ever come back? We can’t say definitively either way at this time.
Why are there Dart Monkeys and Tack Shooters, but no Tack Monkeys and Dart Shooters? Isn’t a dart monkey technically a dart shooter? Since they “shoot” darts? Do expect that we’ll now see fan art with monkeys wearing tack belts or Dalek suits or having ingested boxes of tacks to somehow explode through their torsos, so thank you.
is flash dying because the ninjas kept bombing it? If only!
How long does a Monkey Apprentice / Wizard needs to learn? Since they are digital and exist in a quantum realm it’s pretty hard to know. They do seem to upgrade reasonably quickly, so can only imagine time moves more quickly for them.
Could you buff Etienne and give him infinite range like the description says he already has? We have made some changes to him this update!
How do dart monkeys affected by SMFC turn into super monkeys? Do they feel a sudden power surge that makes them attack super fast for a bit or something? They are empowered by their love for the supermonkeys!
Here are two things about games before BTD5: First one, are you going to remaster the first four BTD games, with extra content and a more pleasant experience? That could be something, since some people are already doing that with their old flash games. I have some ideas, though I may not share them now. Second, may you please update BTD for iOS so that newer devices can play it? I cannot play that game on that modern iPhone. It would also be nice if you could play that game and the mobile version of BTD4 on Android devices. Sadly, we probably won’t ever make BTD4 compatible with newer Android versions or remaster BTD or BTD4 as it would require huge amounts of work and we would essentially have to rebuild the games. Instead, we’re spending most of our energy making BTD6 the biggest and best tower defense game around! We do keep thinking about “classic” elements to add to BTD6 so keep letting us know about the maps or play elements from the earlier games that you like.
Why was the Spikey Ball Tower from BTD1 scrapped? There have been a few things that we’ve left behind, but you can recognize their influence. Dart top path for instance...
Sorry if this has been asked before, but are there other animals in the BTD Universe? Or do monkeys rule the land alone. There are other animals but monkeys are the only ones with their own cities. Also the only ones so snazzily dressed.
Are there any bands in the blooniverse? Especially the beatles. Let’s see… We have the Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz, The Monkees...The rest is just pop music.
What happens if Bloon take banana? Monkey get sad. Monkey hungry. Should have popped Bloon. Regret.
How will BMC Flash's Attack Friend option work on flashpoint and the archive? If you are playing BMC via the Ninja Kiwi Archive, this should continue to work as normal - just make sure you are logged in to your Ninja Kiwi website account.
If Benjamin is hacking the game, why doesn't he just hack in unlimited money? Is he afraid of getting banned for hacking? He may be a hacker, but Benjamin believes in the future of monkey society, a place where all monkeys can have access to sweet hardware, fat pipe internet, and the best in smart casual clothing. He knows that if he hacks too much Monkey Money away from other valuable infrastructure, defense, and Dr. Monkey experiments, that he might not have anything left to hack. Ben is deep.
How old do monkeys have to be to be able to set foot on the battlefield? In Monkey years, human years or Bloon years? And remember that quantum thing, too.
What happened to the Mini MOAB? It was having so much fun in BSM2 that it has so far decided not to invade any other games. Yet.
What happens to Snowman Pat on maps like Inferno/ Cracked/Mesa? Probably getting gorgeously tanned in summer… the hot and the cold are both so intense, put 'em together it just makes sense!
Is there any ways to get unbanned from races? If not then will there be any way to get unbanned from races? It depends on why you were banned but get in touch with support and we can look into it for you.
Why don't Buccaneers with Crow's Nest provide camo detection anymore? It should! If you have seen otherwise, please do let us know over in support with a screenshot!
What's your favourite feature of any game in the Bloons TD Series? I love the heroes! - Sav
do you think that there will be even more upgrades and more upgrades paths? Probably not in BTD6! It would require us to rebalance the whole game. It took us years to put it together and as you just saw from update 21 we are still fine tuning the balance. You speak crazy things.
With that said, can you guys consider adding both some difficulty settings with appropriate rewards to professor evil (both for n00bs and for very good people to whom 100 medallions is a terrible joke), and instead of having one meta u could have arenas with different modifiers which favor different towepower combos. From what i've heard, it seems like more playstyle options with friends would be more interesting. Professor Evil is still a very new challenge, so we’re monitoring community feedback and may well make some tweaks in future updates!
sas 5 has been in early early early early early early early early early early early early dev for years now, yes we get that you are a small team but if the community wants this game so badly that we have to beg you to even mention it in your blogs don't you think that it would be worth a shot to lessen the amount of developers for BTD6 and slowly start chipping away at making SAS5? We do have a topline concept for SAS5, but we’ve done no proof of concept work as we have our hands absolutely full. We also don’t believe in adding so many people to the team that we lose our NK culture. When we start production, we want to make sure the game is as good as it can be which will take years of time from that start point. We know the community are passionate about SAS5, which is exactly why we want to make sure we don’t fail to deliver on something that many of us are looking forward to, both at NK and in the community.
Can Sav get a bb? Not yet :’(
Will there ever be an easy/medium/hard race? It’s hard for moderate players to get good times due to the fact that other way better players get the top places. For example, having separate race categories based on level or previous race times. We aren’t planning on that now but will take the feedback for sure!
Nice try NK, but we all know professor evil has a heart of gold, why else would be be giving out medallions to help out low-level players? Shhhh… He has an image to keep up.
Have a great weekend and happy gaming!
- Sav and Tarn

So when you think of cities with high culture and vibrant music scenes on the east coast, what springs to mind? Obviously New York. Thanks to Drake, we all know about the growing music scene in Toronto. You prahbahbly musta tawt a Bawstan tew. Maybe Montreal or Philadelphia or even Baltimore crossed your mind.
Hah. Baltimore.
Time to check your cultural bias, pal. You passed over a quiet little city on the south shore of Lake Ontario, nestled in the Genesee River valley. It has a history as a hotbed of Abolitionism and Women’s Rights. It is the home of Eastman Kodak, Xerox, Bausch & Lomb, Western Union, Ragu and other innovative companies. It has a lively music scene, great nightclubs, world-renowned universities, thriving museums, arts & culture festivals, and (back when we could actually attend it) live theatre. It is a true cultural gem that many folks overlook.
Yep. You bet your ass I am talking about Rochester, New York.
Since we know that Stoner Rock can come from anywhere, it should be no surprise that Rochester has produced one of the leading bands in this genre. This week we are going to check out a band you are going to want to listen to. If you know them, you love them. If you haven’t heard of them, you are going to thank me.
This week’s band is KING BUFFALO.
About Them
Hold on a sec. King Buffalo? Not King Rochester?
To be fair, King Rochester sounds like the villain in a Disney movie. Kinda hard to imagine that on a T-Shirt. King New York sounds like a particularly obnoxious Yankees fan (and yeah, finding a Yankees fan that isn’t obnoxious is a tough go). King Albany sounds like a car made by Kia.
But King Buffalo? That just works.
Our heros didn’t start out together. King Buffalo were made up of members of two other Rochester area bands.
Randall Coon and Scott Donaldson were playing together in Velvet Elvis. That five piece band played heavy rock with space-based themes in the early 2010’s. Sean McVay and Dan Reynolds were in another band called Abandoned Buildings Club (side note: kinda neat that their initials were ABC), who had a pure psychedelic rock vibe. When both VE and ABC appeared to be having limited success, the four musicians decided to merge their talents into one band. Coon had handled vocals and guitar in Velvet Elvis and Donaldson had been rock solid on drums. McVay had done vocals and guitar in Abandoned Buildings Club and Reynolds had anchored the sound with his bass. All the pieces were there for a classic Beatles-esque lineup.
So out of the wreckage of ABC and VE, KB arose. The four members gelled so well that they were able to record their first demo - aptly titled Demo - in just two days. Their sound was immediately compared to tourmates and close friends All Them Witches. But where ATW were bluesy and sludgy, King Buffalo had produced songs full of space. Oh, there were heavy riffs for sure - but there were passages of music that were contrastingly lighter and further apart. The best example of these contrasts can be found in the more than 11 minutes of Providence Eye. The first six and a half minutes come at you at a lulling pace, enveloping you in the moment. You get swept up in the rolling riffs. But then the drop happens and you suddenly realize the song has been building to this peak. The tempo picks up and you ride a relentless rollercoaster until you hit the Black Sabbath-inspired outro, which takes you home. It is an emotional experience. The two other tracks - In Dim Light and Pocket Full of Knife are smaller essays on the same theme.
It was clear right from Demo that King Buffalo had some serious talent. But if you have listened to the band you will notice that one thing is starkly different on Demo than from any of their other releases: the vocals. Randall Coon was the lead vocalist on these recordings. If you play them up against anything since by the band they stand out. Our very own QotSA may have successfully had multiple vocalists on multiple tunes, but King Buffalo was destined to have Sean McVay take over the mic. Shortly after 2013’s Demo, Coon left the band to do a solo project called Skunk Hawk.
King Buffalo stood at a crossroads: did they look to replace Coon, or should they carry on as a Power Trio? The choice for them was obvious. McVay, Reynolds and Donaldson knew that they had fantastic potential together. They decided they didn't need anyone else.
Side note: Regular readers of these write ups know that All Them Witches just went through this exact crisis in 2019. What I didn’t share then is that ATW are close friends with KB. I would not be surprised to learn that ATW had some serious conversations about their lineup with the boys from KB before they, too, decided last year to pare down to just three members.
To re-christen their new lineup, in 2015 King Buffalo went in on a split EP with Swedish band Lé Betre (I mean, hooking up with a Swedish partner is a dream of mine, so I see the appeal.) They re-recorded their standout tune Providence Eye with McVay on vocals, as well as two new tracks - Like a Cadillac and New Time. New Time opens their side of the EP with an infectious, descending riff that hooks you immediately. It is clear from the lyrics - No wasting around, it’s a new time - that they had moved on from Coon. Like a Cadillac follows up and is a three and a half minute jam that leaves you wanting more. The re-recorded version of Providence Eye closes out their side of the split EP and leaves no doubt that they are in charge. It is a tighter, heavier version, and the amazing outro is so low down that it will make you want to rob your own house.
With their lineup now set, it was time to put together enough music to tour on. In 2016, King Buffalo released Orion. Here you can witness the melding of their influences into something majestic and fantastic, and it is here that they really develop their signature style.
To explain this style, you need to understand basic song structure.
Most pop songs tend to go verse - chorus - verse - chorus - bridge - chorus - chorus. Sure, you could add in a solo for the bridge, or a detailed intro or outro, or another verse - but this is a tried and true formula. Some variation of this dominates the pop charts to this day.
Not with King Buffalo songs. These guys are the masters of the drop, and you hear it in most of their tunes. QotSA fans are no strangers to that long build and release; it is an integral part of tunes like The Evil Has Landed, God is in the Radio, Song For The Dead, and I Appear Missing. One of the sickest drops ever recorded happens in the middle of the Them Crooked Vultures tune No One Loves Me & Neither Do I. It is where the music turns around, and a new riff takes over, often along with a pace change. It is then that you realize that the song has built to this climactic moment, and you are engulfed by the music.
King Buffalo does this better than anyone else, and you hear it clearly articulated, again and again, on the album Orion.
Take the song Kerosene for example.
A rolling bass riff from Reynolds establishes the song right out of the gate. Donaldson produces punchy drum beats with cymbal crashes at the end of each phrase. McVay’s slide guitar rounds out the intro. McVay’s vocals - very Ozzy like, if Ozzy had any semblance of self-control - frame the first verse, which ends in a fuzzy, heavy riff with crashing cymbals. This same pattern is repeated a second time and the drop is teased at just past three minutes in, but does not happen quite yet. The listener’s anticipation builds as the airy, soaring solo from McVay calls out in contrast to the rolling bass. After the guitar solo bridge, the band goes right back into the chorus. But then it happens: THE DROP. Just past 5 minutes in, the song takes a complete and abrupt turn for a totally different riff that is at the same time heavier and brand new, and yet has been there all the while.
What King Buffalo does brilliantly is subvert your musical expectations.
The standard structure is V-C-V-C-B-C-C.
Kerosene is V-C-V-C-B-C-DROP-OUTRO. Just when you subliminally expect something the same, you get something different.
The entire album is like that. Orion hardly sounds like a debut. It is a mature and deliberate soundscape built by talented musicians who are making significant choices about their art. Songs like Drinking From The River Rising open with an expansive and elastic topography, but drill down to the molten lava of heavy riffs and distorted fuzz. Sleeps On A Vine begins with one of the most zen riffs you’ve ever heard and ends in a tumultuous and heavy sonic assault that is pure controlled chaos. Every song on the album is a study in contrasts that leaves you with auditory whiplash and a burning desire for more.
They are that good.
King Buffalo were able to tour on their new material, and did so extensively. They played clubs and larger venues, often with friends and fellow Stoner Rockers All Them Witches and other bands like The Sword and Elder. In 2017, the released the EP Repeater as a follow up. It is just three songs (The vinyl ad reads, All songs on one side! No need to flip!) but it is a heck of a musical journey. The title track off the EP is 13+ minutes long and is one huge build. When the fuzz finally drops after almost 8 minutes, it is a true cathartic moment. It sneaks up on you, and is so welcome when it hits - especially after McVay’s repetition that “Every Day is the Same* - that you intrinsically understand how great it is when things finally change for the better. Too Little Too Late is an instrumental tune that is both enveloping and expansive. It is a terrific bridge to the final track, Centurion, which is an unbelievable groove. Centurion has three minutes of set up leading to an unreal fuzzy drop that is so dirty it will get you evicted from your apartment.
The influence of their touring with All Them Witches can also be seen on their next full length release, 2018’s Longing To Be The Mountain. Ben McLeod from ATW produced the album. ATW, The Sword and Elder are all thanked in the liner notes. The album picks up right where Repeater leaves off, with KB experimenting with long form songs like Morning Song and the title track, and shorter jams like Sun Shivers, Cosmonaut, and Quickening. Reynolds and McVay pepper the songs with synthesizer sounds that add colour and texture to the overall compositions. Donaldson drums with impeccable precision to provide each song with a safe mooring to return to, driving the guitars forward at the same time as he holds the rhythm in check. This is most clearly evident in Eye Of The Storm. The result is a rich tapestry of expansive and flowing music full of heavy jams and storytelling that will leave the listener wanting more. Their signature build-to-sonic-explosion style does not let fans down.
The success of Longing To Be The Mountain allowed for extensive touring across North America and Europe. It also led to appearances at bigger gigs, like at Rockpalast and the Stoned & Dusted desert rock event in 2019. Anyone that has seen any of their live work knows that King Buffalo are simply hypnotizing on stage. Reynolds’ bass work is reminiscent of Geddy Lee with his complex and flowing style. Donaldson brings controlled power to the drum kit, and is ready to cut loose when the drop comes. And McVay has become a true front man, comfortable with the lead voice on guitar and the microphone.
Their most recent release, Dead Star, dropped in 2020 and generated all kinds of buzz in the Stoner Rock scene. Of course, the tour planned to support it got axed when the entire world went into lockdown. But the (short album? EP? New material?) is simply fantastic. Red Star Pt. 1 & 2 continues their long form examination and has everything you’d expect from them. Echo of A Waning Star is a lament of just over 3 minutes that is near-perfect. Ecliptic sounds like the soundtrack to a John Carpenter movie and is a complete jam with serious cool 1980’s vibes. Dead Star, the title track, is almost Radiohead-esque in its evocative and regretful take on death and decay.
But the standout track has to be Eta Carinae, which has one of the greatest musical drops and turn-arounds you will ever hear. The entire song pivots just past four minutes in and becomes a 70’s anthem worthy of Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath. If you listen to no other tune here today, you have to check it out. It will absolutely get stuck in your head.
Even though they could not tour, King Buffalo have not been idle during the Quarantine. Their Quarantine Series on Youtube shared excerpts from their catalogue with fans, all played live. They have been back in the studio, and have promised MULTIPLE full length albums of new material coming our way, starting in 2021. They even have (optimistically) set tour dates for next year.
Some of us learned to bake during quarantine. Some of us got baked. I, for one, am super stoked that KB kept on writing and recording. I cannot wait for Rochester’s finest sons to release new material. I want everyone to hear this band because they really are something special.
Links to QOTSA
We know that QotSA front man Josh Homme and Kyuss invented Stoner Rock in the 1990’s. They were the genre-defining band. King Buffalo (and other bands like All Them Witches) have picked up this proverbial torch and are now bringing the sound to the next generation of fans. King Buffalo drummer Scott Donaldson is known to be a huge QotSA fan. Perhaps he saw them live when they played in Rochester in 2014 in support of ...Like Clockwork.
It is also sometimes easy to forget that Josh was not the only architect of the low desert sound. Original Kyuss Drummer and co-founder Brant Bjork wrote many Kyuss tunes and continues to be a leader in the music scene today. King Buffalo have played with Bjork at festivals three times: Freak Valley Festival, Black Deer Festival and the aforementioned Stoned & Dusted. There is also a planned collaborative project between Bjork and King Buffalo that may be coming our way soon.
The future is bright, my friends.

2020.10.07 02:08 g0tika Julie and the Phantoms x Julie e os fantasmas a comparison

So, "Julia e os fantasmas" the "original" Brazilian version of Julie and the phantoms made my childhood, I remember being so scared of the ghosts but still loving the show. When I saw they made a North American version, I was so excited, but I can't ignore the fact of the huge differences between the shows. (This is just some curiosities, I love both shows)
1- Julie's house: On the 2020 version, Julie already lived in the house, but in the Brazilian version, her family was just moving in.
2- Phantoms de4th: So as you know the phantoms died eating a bad hot dog, but in Brazil, it's pretty different and serious. They were going to make the cover for their album in honor of the Beatles when they were on the street, a truck fell and slid up and killed them. So tragic!!
3- The band's name: As you may know the band was called Sunset Curve, well in Brazil the name was Apollo 81

Fun fact about me: Here in Brazil, we have a cotton brand named Apolo, and every time I looked at the box of it, I would freak out, because I was scared the guys would show up (They weren't as cute and nice as now).

Sooo, there are a lot more differences, so if u want a part 2, let me know <3
Here is a video clip from the Brazilian show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DtUDjj9FKQ

2020.08.30 18:10 GeminusLeonem Brick & Mortar - An Idea for a 2nd Unique Structure Mod

So... I got kinda bored these past few days and, inspired in how the amazing Steel & Thunder mod adds in a 2nd Unique Unit to each Civ, I wondered if I could come up with a 2nd Unique Structure to each Civ as well.
After doing some wiki-diving, this incredibly rough list is what I was able to scrounge up:

And since I am just that bored here are some possible Unique Structures for the unannounced Civs I believe will be in the Pass:

And that's it! Those are all of my ideas for a "2nd Unique Structures" mod/addition/whatever.
I know it's a prety imbalanced list and it will probably never see the light of day, but it was pretty fun to brainstorm it!

Questions Answers
Do you find it hard to approach music from a different culture of origin? For example, when reviewing K-pop or maybe rap in another language, does not being able to understand the lyrics affect your enjoyment of that music, and does that reflect in your reviews? I thought it would be different when it comes to a single critic, rather than places like Pitchfork who may have a more diverse staff on hand to give opinions. i'm not gonna lie; it can be. i think i just try to do the best i can do translate what the enjoyable qualities of the album will be for a listener who won't go into it naturally understanding those aspects of it. because music is so steeped in whatever culture it comes from, the types of barriers are going to be there. and that's ok. not everyone can understand and be an expert on everything. and at the end of the day, i'm just trying to engage enjoyment. it doesn't matter of me if i'm enjoying a weezer album or a natalia laforcade album. i'll do my best to state what it is about the album i find to be special.
what era of musical exploration do you feel like was the strongest? as a followup, do you think music is currently headed in a direction that is favorable? not sure about the first question, tbh.
i think music will continue to move in a good direction as long as the culture it comes from remains in control of its creation and dissemination, not greedy record labels. what we have now isn't perfect, but the internet gives more artists control than before. more control and a fairer financial deal is what artists need to seek otu in the future.
what current movement or genre in music do you think will have the biggest impact going forward over the next decade? what artists specifically will be looked back on in ten years as highly influential to the direction of music? probably guys like frank ocean or some of these emo trap artists. i know the catalog doesn't seem like much, but they're hitting an emotional nerve with current generations few other artists are.
Hey Anthony, I'm a big fan of your content, so cheers for putting the time in to entertain us all. a few times, but that desire usually goes away quickly.
Do you think that UK culture makes it harder to understand the messages in UK music? i don't think UK culture makes it HARDER, but because it's a culture Americans aren't familiar with the dialect seems alien and lingo goes over their heads. so, yeah, it can create a bit of a barrier, i suppose. however, i think that's something people should get over to try and enjoy something that's different and exciting.
I notice that you put emphasis on the mixing and mastering of a song when reviewing, my question is have you ever heard a song that still sounded great even though the mic may have been a little muddy or not up to par with commercial standards? sure. all the time. how a song is presented sonically is important, but it's not everything. things can still sound a bit "off" and the music still be perfectly good / enjoyable.
Would you ever drop any original music?? probably, but i'm not sure i have any interest in becoming a commercial artist, honestly. i respect the grind and obviously i couldn't be doing anything i'm doing without commercial music existing. i just don't have any interest in making it or promoting it like it's my job or paying my bills depends on it.
What made you start reviewing music and albums in general? just wanting to share my thoughts and see if i'd get any others in return. covering music professionally just seemed like the most sensible way of making it a part of my life in a way where it could be constant around the time i was trying to forge a career path.

San Francisco, a Trip down Market Street, April 14, 1906 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO_1AdYRGW8
Eu fico pensando coisas como, por exemplo: as crianças que aparecem em vídeos como esse, de 1906, chegaram a conhecer os Beatles, por exemplo. Alguns quem sabe ouviram até mesmo Pink Floyd :O
